The objective of the Iberian Seminar on “Global Change in the Iberian Peninsula: An integrated approach” is to bring together Portuguese and Spanish researchers who are developing studies about global change. It is intended to be an interdisciplinary forum to analyse and discuss issues related to Global Change in the Iberian Peninsula.. The seminar has been organised around three themes, based on an underlying temporal dimension, which serve as a framework for the different sessions and seek to explore the role of human action in global change, in the context of the Iberian Peninsula, the environmental consequences of this change and the response of social systems: Theme 1 – Environmental Change: Evidence from the Past Theme 2 – Current Tendencies for Change: Vulnerability and Resilience Theme 3 – Scenarios of Environmental Change and Challenges for the Future: Mitigation, Recovery and Adaptation
