Theme 2 - Current Tendencies for Change: Vulnerability and Resilience The Mediterranean/ Atlantic dichotomy that is a hallmark of the Iberian Peninsula is reflected, amongst other aspects, in the diversity of landscapes and the way in which natural resources are used. It is important to have a clear understanding of the tendencies that have taken place in recent decades in the context of environmental change, identifying and analysing the (natural and human) factors for degradation or environmental preservation, by means of systemic approaches. Posters and communications must enable the construction of an integrated vision of the main tendencies and factors for change and resilience in environmental systems at the level of climate change, the acidification of the oceans, rising sea levels, the degradation of coastal areas, extreme meteorological phenomena, the eutrophication of aquatic and terrestrial eco-systems, the reduction of biodiversity, deforestation, desertification, changes in soil use, the degradation of water resources, fishery depletion, the degradation of wetlands, amongst others. |
